My name is Yosbel Amor. I'm originally from Cuba, a beautiful land that inspired me to become an artist and create.
Since very young I attended the national school of art with dreams of becoming a painter. This was a beautiful time in my life, full of color and enjoyment.
At the age of 15, my family migrated to the United States, a completely different world, with different rules and experiences. It was a culture shock that would inevitably change my career.
I continued my art education in the States, but what once was painting, became sculpture, printmaking, experimentation and discovery. I explored the figures in the classical paintings and the techniques of modern artist and styles. In 2016 after 11 months of hard work I culminated my first personal show, a conjunction of 11 works using concrete, plaster and oil paint.
Still I had not found a medium that completely captured my attention.
A little bit of love from a special person and the desire to continue creating made me buy my first camera. Since then I haven't stop taking and editing pictures. Portraits have become and obsession complemented by the relationships that come from all the wonderful new people I get to meet and photograph. Every subject is a new adventure that I get to live and breathe, every subject is a new life, every subject becomes a part of me, and that I believe is what makes photography an extraordinary path to happiness.
